The glass is less corroded by the
dark lines than in the unpainted
regions.
The light green-brown coating
near the lead is noteworthy. Similar
coatings, perhaps pigmented coatings
of sodium silicate, are visible in many
of the most lustrous pieces of glass throughout the cycle.
